The term "Media City" is synonymous with all that is happening today in the grounds of the Babelsberg film studios, a territory rich in tradition. On the area of 46 hectares, some 1,750 people work in film and media businesses. Sixteen studios, 100 small enterprises, and the Ostdeutsche Rundfunk Brandenburg (ORB) - East German Broadcasting Brandenburg - have their offices and facilities here. They produce feature films, cartoon movies, and documentaries, in addition to TV series. Many popular soaps, such as "Gute Zeiten - Schlechte Zeiten" (Good Times - Bad Times) and "Schloss Einstein" (Einstein's Palace) are made in Babelsberg. Radio programs for the "Fritz," "Radio Eins," and "Antenne Brandenburg" stations are broadcast from the new radio building on the grounds of media city. East German radio history is on deposit in a new archive building, and ARD-digital is produced in the ARD-Play-Out-Center of the ORB television station in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
