In co-operation with libraries, theaters, book shops, galleries, and the media, the Literature Office offers the following programs: consultation and information, readings and readings series, book premieres, forums on literature and society, literature exhibits, and publications.
The Brandenburg Literature Association, founded in February 1994, is the sponsor of the Literature Office. The association's aim, according to its charter, is "to support the various facets of literary creation in the State of Brandenburg by diverse activities. It is a sponsoring association for literature not a lobby group of authors and writers."
