The main objective of the Academy for Psychotherapy and Intervention Research (API) is the improvement of diagnostics, prevention, and treatment of developmental disturbances (e.g. reading and spelling problems) and emotional problems (e.g. depression, phobias, hyperkinetic disorder, aggressive behavior) in children or teenagers.
API performs its diagnostics and treatment in Potsdam. In the year 2000, API was authorized by the Brandenburg Association of Panel Doctors to carry out psychotherapeutic treatment of problems in children and young adults.
Diagnostic and therapeutic measures are carried out by appointment according to the latest state of research in the Academy's out-patient department. The costs for this are covered by the health insurance companies.
