Einstein Forum

The Einstein Forum is a laboratory for new ideas and an experimental field for unconventional designs. At the center of the work, there is not just the interaction between the natural sciences and the humanities, but also the study of the ethical and political aspects of science, as well as the question of the status of knowledge and the forms of its conveyance - and the name of Albert Einstein represents all of this in no small measure.

The State of Brandenburg founded the Einstein Forum in June 1993 as a foundation under public law in order to create an arena where different disciplines can enter into a dialogue together. The encouraged goals here are both the intense exchange of ideas between the Brandenburg universities and non-university facilities in the state beyond the normal bounds of the individual subjects, and the enablement of contact to scientists and personalities on an international plane.

The conveyance of knowledge is not just a subject, but a principle of the work at the Einstein Forum. The Forum has firmly established itself with the citizens of Brandenburg and Berlin as an interface between science and the public through its regular workshop program. In this way, scientists from the great intellectual centers from all over the world are brought together in Brandenburg to give the current research new impetus by exchanging the results of their work.

International conferences are the core of the program. Various lecture series - some of them in co-operation with other institutions in the Brandenburg and Berlin scientific and cultural landscape - are another central part of the Einstein Forum's work. Selected contributions to the series of workshops and conferences are also published.
