Child Day care offers in Potsdam

The city of Potsdam, in partnership with independent providers operating the day care centers and child care providers, offers a needs-based range of child day care services in the form of day care centers (including after-school care), child care facilities, and other offerings (educationally supported parent-child groups, Aki, and KuKi). The child day care services provide family-supportive, partnership-based, and supportive assistance in the upbringing, education, care, and provision for children.

Other Childcare (After-School Care)

The Other Childcare (AKi) is an additional service primarily for the care of older elementary school children after classes. For children from the third grade who are very independent and require only a limited amount of care hours per week, AKi offers an alternative to after-school care. Projects, sports, and artistic activities shape the daily routine. Children can decide for themselves which activities they want to participate in. The maximum care time per week is 19 hours. There are 7 AKi locations in Potsdam. The service is free of parent contributions.

Educationally Accompanied Parent-Child Groups

Educationally accompanied parent-child groups are a needs-based educational offering and a place for interaction between children and their parents. Under the guidance of educational professionals, parents exchange ideas with one another, and children gradually get accustomed to a future Kita routine with their parents' support. These groups are suitable for the age group of 0 to 3 years. The educationally accompanied Parent-Child Groups Plus offer parents the opportunity to also include older siblings aged 0 to 6 years. The service is free of parent contributions.

Short-Term Childcare (KuKi)

Short-term childcare (KuKi) is a flexible care offering that provides children in nursery age the opportunity for individual social experiences. There is a care facility with a total of 12 places, of which 6 places are covered by the legal entitlement notice, and an additional 6 places can be privately booked by parents. Parents have the option to have their children cared for on an hourly basis.
