Advisory Councils of the State Capital Potsdam

The Advisory Council for People with Disabilities of the State Capital Potsdam represents the specific concerns of people with disabilities in Potsdam and promotes inclusion and accessibility in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The Participation Council is an advisory body of the City Council, primarily composed of citizens. It promotes collaboration between residents, politics, and administration, and aims to incorporate the opinions and wishes of citizens as effectively as possible into decision-making processes.

The Digitalization Council aims to advise the municipality on its tasks in digital public services, thereby creating added value for the residents of Potsdam. It reflects on the substantive ideas of the administration, evaluates them, and provides corresponding recommendations for action.

The Expert Committee on the Culture of Remembrance advises, accompanies, and supports the department and committee responsible for the culture of remembrance as an independent council of experts.

The Design Council advises builders and architects as an independent expert committee. Its task is to assess the projects presented to it in terms of urban planning, architectural, and design qualities, and to provide guidance to the parties involved in this regard.

The Potsdam Climate Council is a voluntary expert committee of the State Capital Potsdam. It constructively and critically supports politics, administration, municipal enterprises, and the urban community in building a climate-neutral and climate-resilient city.

The Migrant Council of the State Capital Potsdam has been advocating for equal, inclusive, and diverse coexistence in the State Capital Potsdam since its founding in 1992. It represents the interests of migrants and supports and promotes social and cultural integration through voluntary work.

The Nature Conservation Council is intended to advise and support the lower nature conservation authority under the Mayor of the State Capital Potsdam in all matters related to nature conservation.

The Senior Council represents the interests and social concerns of the group of seniors in Potsdam. It sees itself as an independent advocacy group free from political, religious, and organizational affiliations.

The Economic Council of the State Capital Potsdam is a body composed of representatives from the Potsdam economy and academia. Its task is to provide advisory support to the City Council, its committees, and the city administration in all economically relevant decisions and issues.
