A central and modern administrative hub is being developed in Potsdam's city centre. Currently, the town hall is undergoing renovation, and a redesign of the administrative campus is being planned. As a result, many municipal services are not available at their usual locations. Please check in advance before your visit.

The Services website of the city administration provides an overview of the most important municipal services, offering information, forms, and contact persons.

The administration website includes the organisational chart of Potsdam’s city administration, as well as detailed information on all departments, offices, opening hours, and contact details.

Still have questions? You can reach Potsdam’s service center via the official government hotline 115, available Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM, usually at landline rates or free of charge with a flat rate.

The Administrative Campus of the Future

The town hall is currently undergoing a complete and extensive renovation. The historic building has been vacated for this purpose, and around 350 municipal employees have relocated to temporary offices, including locations in Edisonallee, the main train station, and Yorckstraße.

Key renovation efforts include improving fire safety, restoring the building in accordance with historical preservation guidelines, upgrading technical infrastructure, and ensuring accessibility. Once renovations are completed in late 2027, the building will once again serve as the administrative headquarters, accommodating approximately 550 employees.

Alongside the town hall renovation, plans are underway to develop a new administrative campus in the city center. The goal is to create a modern, central service hub for Potsdam’s residents and an attractive work environment for municipal employees. The redesign includes both the renovation of existing buildings and new construction projects, including a sports hall for school and club sports, with completion expected by 2032.

Many administrative units, including the Citizen Service Center, have moved out of the town hall. The new Citizen Service Center is now open at Yorckstraße 22, offering a spacious 1,500 m² office area with 18 service counters, an information desk, and a large waiting area. The lost and found office is conveniently located next door on the ground floor of Yorckstraße 24.
