Nuthepark, located on former lowland meadows at the mouth of the Nuthe River—a previously neglected area with remnants of shipyards and old bathing facilities—is now a naturalistic landscaped park featuring play areas and open lawns. Situated near the residential district Zentrum-Ost, the park was developed between 1998 and 2002 based on a design by the architecture firm Fugmann Janotta.
A standout feature is the impressive Lindenhalle ("Linden Hall"), a tree-lined space that includes a woodland stage. Other highlights include wet meadows, a forest playground, and the Havel Terrace with a public pier. At the confluence of the Nuthe and Havel rivers, a newly constructed covered wooden bridge spans the Havel inflow.
Just south of this, the 1.5 km-long Uferpark an der Neuen Fahrt ("Riverside Park on the Neue Fahrt") extends along the water. The area, once part of a former railway yard, was demolished and cleared after 1989. A key focus of the redesign was stabilizing the riverbanks using bioengineering techniques and planting a shoreline vegetation that is both functional and visually appealing.
