Nauener Tor - The Nauen Gate
The Nauener Tor is perhaps the earliest building built on the European mainland as an adoption of the English neo-Gothic style.
Freundschaftsinsel - Friendship Island
Friendship Island is located between the Alte Fahrt and Neue Fahrt waterways. In an area of six hectares you will find a children's playground, an open-air theatre, an exhibition pavilion and a coffee house.
The Lindenstraße Memorial
This memorial, which is part of the Potsdam Museum, was the city courtrooms for a long time, and as of 1820, a prison wing was also added.
Nikolaikirche - The Nikolai Church
The Protestant Nikolai church is one of the most important buildings in the era of German classicism.
Alte Wache - The Old Guard House
The Alte Wache is located in the Charlottenstraße. At the beginning of the 18th century traders and goods coming from Werder and Brandenburg/Havel were examined here.
Alter Markt - the Old Market Square
The Old Market Square is bounded by the Potsdam Advanced Technical College, the Nikolaikirche, the Old Townhall, the Knobelsdorff house and the Hans Otto theatre.
Stadtkanal - The City Canal
Once again, since its reconstruction in 2001, a 120 metres long section of the city canal can be viewed in the Yorckstraße (York street).
Neuer Lustgarten - New Pleasance
Once the Pleasance was part of the Potsdam Stadtschloss city palace and was the oldest garden in Potsdam.
Französische Kirche - The French Church
The little French Church at the eastern edge of the Bassinplatz square is reminiscent of the Pantheon in Rome and captivates the viewer with its elliptical form.
Brandenburger Tor - Brandenburg Gate
The Brandenburger Tor is situated at the western end of the Brandenburger Straße, which lies in a straight line from the Church of St. Peter and Paul at the opposite end. The gate, which resembles a Roman triumphal arch, had two architects and therefore also reveals two facades.
