The new Potsdam residential quarter Bornstedter Feld is located close to the inner-city and not far away from the historical parks Sanssouci and Neuen Garten -New Garden.

Today, more than 3,000 people already have their homes in the Bornstedter Feld settlement; 1,500 residential units are already completed and some 100 more are under construction or in the planning process. A residential quarter for 16,000 inhabitants and about 5,000 new jobs will be in development here through 2010. The variety and vibrancy of the new residential quarter results from the well-planned mix of homes, jobs, university and leisure-time facilities, from the different types of housing and architectural styles, the inhabitants of every age, and the variety of social groups. Each quarter will have its own distinctive look.

For those people seeking activities and recreation, for friends of gardens and fans of cultural events, the park with an area of 60 hectares is the green center of the development in Potsdam's newest town quarter and thus provides a recreation area located right at one's doorstep.
