Primary schools in Potsdam


There are 14 municipal primary schools and three municipal comprehensive schools with primary departments in the state capital of Potsdam. In addition, children may also attend two elementary schools, which are independently supported.

Secondary Schools


There are 23 secondary schools in Potsdam. There are 12 comprehensive schools - 11 of which are operated by the city and the Freie Waldorfschule — independent Waldorf School.

Special schools in Potsdam


Handicapped children and teens receive special support in Potsdam. Both handicapped and physically-able children attend intermediate schools together, and there are also seven special schools serving Potsdam students.

The city's music school, Johann Sebastian Bach, with some 1,750 students, is the largest musical education institute in the state capital.

Vocational schools in Potsdam


The three Oberstufenzentren (OSZ – upper school centers) in Potsdam, the "Theodor Hoppe" special-pedagogic vocational school, and other independent vocational schools offer courses in vocational training.
