Flyer about progress at the building site

The new flyer is available at the citizen service and the Potsdam Tourist Information in German and English to inform residents and guests of the same information. Sigrid Sommer, from the Marketing/Communication department, created the flyer in cooperation with the company in charge of the redevelopment of the city, and said, "Many guests and visitors discover the city from the central station on. To explain what's behind the big building site in the city center, we decided on an English version. The English flyer is not just for residents of Potsdam, but also for the rest of country and anyone interested, and will be handed-out at national and international tourist exhibits."

The 12 pages of the flyer offer a preview of what happens at the building site until 2011, the status of the excavation, and the changes to traffic. The flyer also gives information about guided tours of the archaeological excavation site. It presents the plans for the work on the Nikolaikirche, the Alte Rathaus, and the library, and describes the new synagogue of Potsdam. With the introduction from mayor Jann Jakobs and the president of the Brandenburg Landtag Gunter Fritsch, they invite all citizens and guests to intensively inform themselves about the projects of Potsdam's city center.

The guided tours of the archaeological excavation site will be continued in the spring. At the moment, there is no specific date because it depends on the weather and the rate of the construction. Jonas Beran is confident there will be much to see: "In this year, they want to continue south of the street and current site. We expect really interesting and well-preserved findings, for example the south wall and the south bastion corner of the castle from the 16th century."
