Berlin Brandenburg International School (BBIS) is an international, state-approved, English-language day and boarding school, situated about 15 km east of Potsdam. The school was founded in 1990 in a large, rented villa on the Heiligensee waterfront in Potsdam.

Since 2001 the BBIS campus has been located in the village of Kleinmachnow, in a wooded setting on the shore of the Machnower See. About 650 students ages 3 to 19 learn at BBIS, representing 55 different nationalities. Here certified teachers from all over the world teach their international students according to the three IB programmes of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization. Classes are small, usually with fewer than 18 students; the teacher-student ratio is 1:7. An extensive extracurricular activities programme for students of all ages complements learning in the classroom and is an important part of the school's programme of education. In grade 12, BBIS students earn the IB Diploma, a qualification recognized by universities throughout the world, or a BBIS High School Diploma. BBIS Boarding School, located in Potsdam-Babelsberg, houses 18 students from grades 6 through 12. In August 2010 the boarding facility will move onto the school campus in Kleinmachnow and will then offer space for up to 40 students.
