In the manor house you may dine in the fashion of a royal guest, you can even celebrate your marriage here or raise a toast while being feted in the Gundling wine cellar (former name for a court jester). (© Christel Köster, ‘Märkische Allgemeine’ newspaper)

Only 400 steps from Schloss Sanssouci palace you will find a "small Italian village": the Krongut Bornstedt, which was once a country house belonging to the Prussian coronet. After painstaking restoration completed in 2001, the ensemble of buildings once again reveal their historic splendour. The interior of the former Hohenzollern's model farm provides a glimpse of history, too. In the court brewery you may experience for yourself traditional brewing and distillation as it has been performed since 1689, and you may also savour it as an accompaniment to the cuisine of the Mark Brandenburg in the form of the famed Bornstedt Buffalo beer. The Habel vintner's barn, the Royal Courtyard Bakery, and the Café Victoria are also on-hand to cater for further culinary enjoyment.

Old handicrafts come to life again in the Brandenburg Manufactury. You can look over the shoulder of the hat-makers, milliners, pewterers, weavers, potters, and candle-makers while they produce their goods in the traditional ways and later offer them for sale. In the "Johann Kunckel" glassworks you may also marvel at the work of a glass-blower, as he works before his furnace operating at more than 1,200 degrees centigrade. The ambience of historic crafts is rounded off by a barber and a 19th century perfumery. Allow yourself to be enchanted by the idyllic estate gracing the banks of the Bornstedt lake.
